Spend the day on the Camel Trail 17 miles of traffic free walking and cycling alongside the river. Bikes are available for hire in Wadebridge. A 5 mile bike ride from Wadebridge leads you to the Cornish fishing port of Padstow. The town is filled with galleries shops pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein s popular seafood restaurant and bistro. Ideally situated for touring the whole of Cornwall there are numerous attractions to suit all tastes including Crealy Adventure Park Newquay Blue Reef Aquarium The Eden Project and the house and gardens of Lanhydrock. The popular beach of Polzeath is a 5 mile drive away and Rock beach is also close by. Surfing spots include Newquay and Watergate Bay both within a half hour drive. This cosy accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 spacious master double and 1 compact twin room with TV for playing DVD s only both located on the first floor reached via cottage style stairs. Bathroom: situated on the ground floor with shower over bath and WC. Wadebridge is a town in Cornwall, England, situated either side of the River Camel just upstream from Padstow. It is located not far from Egloshayle, St Breock, Whitecross, St Endellion, Washaway, and Port Isaac and is one of more than two hundred and fifty towns or villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest official city is the Cornish capital of Truro.
The old A39 road used to pass right through Wadebridge, causing much congestion, especially in summer months, in the town itself. In 1991, however, a bypass was built which has alleviated this problem and allowed some of the town to be pedestrianized, giving it back much of its original character.
The town used to have a railway line running along the river side towards Padstow on the coast, but this was closed along with many other branch lines but now forms the path of the 'Camel Trail' cycle route, which is popular with tourists and affords beautiful views across the estuary.
